2007 TBSA Fall League–October 14, 2007

EDISON, NJ–The sixth week of action at the 2007 TBSA Fall League at The Basketball Shooting Academy on Carter Drive in Edison took place on October 14th with a full slate of games running from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. In the added league games held at 4:00 PM, Middlesex and Dunellen squared off in a battle for Route 28 supremacy while David Brearley of Kenilworth and J.F. Kennedy squared off in the other game. Then, in the regular league schedule, Montgomery took on St. Joseph’s while Monroe faced Roselle Catholic at 5:00 PM. At 6:00 PM, Bridgewater and Piscataway renewed old Mid-State rivalry acquaintenances while Warren Hills battled Colonia. Then, at 7:00 PM, Elizabeth and J.P. Stevens faced off while Trenton played Cardinal McCarrick. Finally, at 8:00 PM, Bishop Ahr played Notre Dame in a rematch of last year’s first round playoff game in the Non-Public A South State Tournament while North Hunterdon took on Timothy Christian.

Of the ten games that were played on this Sunday, four of them were decided by six points or less. In eight contests pitting the Greater Middlesex Conference against teams from other conferences, the GMC teams went a combined 6-2 including J.F. Kennedy defeating Brearley by four, St. Joseph’s defeating Montgomery by 26, Monroe downing Roselle Catholic by 18, Colonia rolling past Warren Hills by 23 points, J.P. Stevens upsetting Elizabeth by two, and Bishop Ahr knocking off Notre Dame by six. The only two losses suffered by the GMC versus non-conference foes were Cardinal McCarrick, which lost to Trenton by 20, and Piscataway, which was edged by Bridgewater by one. In the other games, Middlesex defeated Dunellen soundly by 27 while North Hunterdon defeated Timothy Christian by 14 points.

Latest Standings

Below are the latest standings in the 2007 TBSA Fall League after play on October 14th. Keep in mind that J.P. Stevens and Piscataway hold tiebreakers over Elizabeth thanks to head to head victories while the Minutemen have the same edge over St. Joseph’s, and the Falcons in turn earned their edge over Montgomery thanks to the head to head win on Sunday. Monroe has a tiebreaker now over Roselle Catholic while Warren Hills holds a head to head tiebreak over Bishop Ahr. So far this fall season, the conferences have the following combined records: Colonial Valley Conference (8-4), Skyland Conference (14-10), Watchung Conference (4-2), Mountain Valley Conference (4-5), Patriot Conference (0-8), and the Greater Middlesex Conference (24-27). Against non-conference opponents this fall, the GMC teams are a combined 22-23.
