2007 TBSA Fall League–October 21, 2007

EDISON, NJ–The seventh week of action in the 2007 TBSA Fall League at The Basketball Shooting Academy over on Carter Drive in Edison took place on Sunday, October 21st with, once again, a full slate of games from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The day started out with contests from the added league, which actually started in week four, and continued until the end of the season. The added league consisted of just four teams: Middlesex, Dunellen, J.F. Kennedy, and David Brearley of Kenilwoth. On this particular Sunday, the teams in the added league started to branch out, and play teams from the regular league. At 4:00 PM, Monroe moved up to face off against David Brearley on Court #2 while Dunellen battled JFK on nearby Court #3. At 5:00 PM, St. Joe’s faced off against Warren Hills on Court #2 while Notre Dame played Timothy Christian on Court #3. Then, at 6:00 PM, Elizabeth played Bishop Ahr on Court #2 while Colonia squared off against North Hunterdon on Court #3. At 7:00 PM, Middlesex, which entered the week’s action undefeated in added League play, took a big step up by taking on Trenton on Court #2 while Piscataway battled Montgomery. Finally, at 8:00 PM, Bridgewater and Cardinal McCarrick competed against each other on Court #2 while J.P. Stevens and Roselle Catholic did likewise on Court #3.

Of the ten games that were played on this Sunday, only three were decided by ten points or less. In the eight games that pitted teams from the Greater Middlesex Conference against non-conference foes, the GMC did well again going a combined 5-3 including: Monroe over David Brearley by 20 points, St. Joseph’s slipping past Warren Hills by four, Colonia over North Hunterdon by 19, Piscataway edging Montgomery by three, and J.P. Stevens routing Roselle Catholic by 33. The three losses suffered by the GMC included: Bishop Ahr losing to Elizabeth by 10, Cardinal McCarrick losing to Bridgewater by 15, and Middlesex losing to Trenton by 16.

Latest Standings

Below are the latest standings in the 2007 TBSA Fall League after play on October 21st. Trenton played its final game of the fall, and finished up at 6-1. Piscataway and J.P. Stevens still hold tiebreakers over Elizabeth while the Minutemen maintain a head to head tiebreak over St. Joseph’s. Montgomery holds a tiebreaker over Colonia thanks to a head to head win earlier in the season while North Hunterdon does the same over Monroe and Warren Hills does over Bishop Ahr. Breaking down the records by conference, we get the following: Colonial Valley Conference (10-4), Skyland Conference (15-13), Watchung Conference (5-2), Mountain Valley Conference (4-7), Patriot Conference (0-7), and the Greater Middlesex Conference (25-24). Against non-conference competition, the GMC teams are now a combined (27-26), and by conference it breaks down like this: Colonial Valley Conference (3-9), Skyland Conference (15-9), Watchung Conference (2-5), and the Mountain Valley Conference (7-3)
