St. Joseph’s Representing GMC in the League
SOMERVILLE, NJ–On Wednesday, GMC Hoops received information from Chris Fox of the Immaculata Fall League regarding the upcoming 2013 season. The league is set to begin on Sunday, September 15th, and run for eight weeks until November 3rd. There are no games scheduled for October 6th so each team will play a total of seven games. There will be 16 teams competing with Bridgewater having two squads. Most of the teams are from the Skyland Conference with other teams coming from the Colonial Valley Conference, Greater Middlesex Conference, and Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference. All games will be played at Immaculata High school from 1:00 PM through 8:00 PM. Below are some of the rules for the league:
Fall League Rules and Regulations
*** All games will be two 20 minute running halves. The clock will only stop during the last 2 minutes of the 2nd half.
*** If game is tied we will play 4 minute running quarter until game is decided.
*** Time will run during free throws, except during final 2 minutes of regulation and overtime.
*** All shooting fouls will be 1 and 1. After 6 team fouls, all foul shots will be 1 and 1. During last 2 minutes of game all non shooting fouls will be 1 and 1.
*** 4 timeouts per game, 2-30 seconds and 2 full. One timeout will be given in overtime.
*** Fouls- we will allow players to play with unlimited fouls. However, if a player is getting out of control the coach and / or referee can remove player from game. We would expect the coach to take care of that before the ref gets involved.
*** If a player or coach gets ejected they will be suspended for 1 game, if they get a 2nd ejection they are done for season.
*** All teams are to provide their own jerseys and warm-up balls. We will provide the game balls.
*** Please have your teams their 15 minutes before game so that we can start all games on time. Each team will have 10 minutes until after start time to have enough players before they forfeit.
