2016 Immaculata Fall League–Standings–Week Seven

Piscataway Moves into Tie for 3rd at 5-2; EB and Joes Tied for 6th

SOMERVILLE, NJ–On Sunday, week seven action took place at the 2016 Immaculata Fall League with a full slate of nine games including five involving teams from the Greater Middlesex Conference. Three GMC teams emerged victorious on Sunday afternoon and evening.

Bishop Ahr defeated Summit to give the GMC its first win of the day. Then, East Brunswick jumped out to an 18 point lead midway through the second half before withstanding a late rally by Mendham for a 37-29 win. Finally, Piscataway cemented a spot in a three way tie for third in the league at 5-2 with a dominant 59-16 win over Bound Brook. There is still quite a horse race for first place at the Immaculata Fall League.

Despite both teams playing their sub-varsity players since their varsity squads were playing in a team camp at Caldwell University this weekend, Immaculata and Ridge, two of the three first place teams in the league entering the week, played quite a battle that was decided in the final 30 seconds as Immaculata won, 54-51 to stay in first place.

Morristown rolled past St. Joseph’s to keep pace with the Spartans in a two way tie for first at 6-1. Piscataway is in a three way tie for third with Ridge and Somerville at 5-2. East Brunswick and St. Joseph’s are knotted in a five way tie for sixth place at 4-3 while Bishop Ahr is tied with Bridgewater-Raritan for 11th at 3-4.

Ten of the 18 teams in this year’s league are above .500 right now. Below are the standings at Immaculata after the seventh week of play:
