St. Joseph’s Ford Selected as Tourney MVP

EDISON, NJ—On Friday night, the third seeded St. Joseph’s Falcons team won its fourth consecutive GMCT crown and 9th in the last 10 years with a come from behind 49-46 decision over fifth seeded Piscataway in the 2019 Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament at Middlesex County College.

St. Joseph’s Tyree Ford, who scored 13 points including a putback of a missed FT in the final seconds to seal the championship, was selected as the GMCT Boys MVP. Ford, who now has 930 career points, averaged 10.3 points per game during the course of the tourney. Through the first two rounds of the tourney, Ford also averaged 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.0 steals, per contest as per NJ.com.

Ford is one of three different St. Joseph’s players to be selected to the 2019 All GMCT Boys Team. Below are the selections:
