Three Teams from GMC Again Playing in So. Plainfield Tourney
SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–Earlier this week, GMC Hoops received the 2019 Anthony Cotoia Holiday Tourney Schedule from South Plainfield’s boys basketball coach, John Greco. Once again, South Plainfield High School is hosting the tournament while three teams from the Greater Middlesex Conference are participating.
This tournament honors Anthony Cotoia, the first boys basketball coach at South Plainfield HS. Cotoia, who later went on to become the Tigers athletic director, and principal at the school, passed away in November 2009. Since then, the tournament has taken place each season at SPHS. Cotoia led the Tigers to four sectional final appearances in five years, and guided the school to its only state title in boys basketball in 1964
The first round of the tourney is scheduled for the day after Christmas, Thursday, December 26th and the final round is set for Fridy, December 27th. View the 2019 Anthony Cotoia Holiday Tourney Schedule below:
