SOUTH AMBOY, NJ–On Thursday night, GMC Hoops received updated information from Raritan Bay Summer League co-director, Tom Reilly, on the teams that are playing in this league this season. This summer, there are a total of 28 teams playing in three divisions: 5th and 6th Grade, 7th and 8th Grade, and High School. Below are the teams in the league.

New League To Be Played At Rahway High School This Summer

UNION, NJ–On Thursday night at the 2010 Kean Pre-Summer League, GMC Hoops learned from one of the deans of Middlesex County and Union County officiating, George Banos, that there will be a new league this summer at Rahway High School. The league will be run by Rahway head coach, Kevin Conroy and Dunellen head coach, Bernie Buniak. There are going to be seven teams from the GMC including J.F. Kennedy and six teams from Union County. More details on this league will be forthcoming.

New Brunswick Taking A Step Up By Playing In Linden Summer League This Year

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–On Thursday afternoon, GMC Hoops had a chance to chat with New Brunswick head coach, Antoine Allen, who is coming off his best season yet as head coach of the program. The third year coach disclosed that New Brunswick will be taking a step up by competing in the 2010 Linden Summer League. Last year, the Zebras competed in the Bound Brook Summer League after not playing in a league two years ago. Allen felt that with players such as Jaquan Cook and Milton Pittman coming back in 2010-11, he needed to have his squad play up this summer. Here’s a look at the itinerary for New Brunswick this summer.

2010 Raritan Bay Summer League–Week Two–Schedule

SOUTH AMBOY, NJ–On Monday afternoon, GMC Hoops received the second week schedule of games for the 2010 Raritan Bay Summer League from the league’s co-director, Tom Reilly. The web site plans to be down at South Amboy Middle/High School for some of the action Wednesday and Thursday nights. Below is the schedule for the second week of the season.

Tuesday, June 1st–Day Five

  • 5:30 PM–Quincy Kings vs. East Brunswick–5th and 6th Grade Division
  • 6:30 PM–Freehold vs. Franklin Park–7th and 8th Grade Division
  • 7:30 PM–St. Ambrose vs. Carteret Pirates–7th and 8th Grade Division
  • 8:30 PM–St. Matthews vs. Shoreshots–7th and 8th Grade Division

UNION, NJ–On Thursday night, GMC Hoops was able to get out to Kean University for the first time this season to take in some of the action from the fourth night of contests in the 2010 Kean Pre-Summer League. Here are the results from two of the games. There were five contests on the schedule.

2010 Hoop Group Headquarters Spring League–Week Seven–Standings

NEPTUNE, NJ–On Thursday, GMC Hoops received the results in week six and seven from the 2010 Hoop Group Headquarters Spring League being held at the facility formerly known as Rebounds. Based on these results, the site updated the standings. There are two teams from the GMC in this league: Monroe and South River. The Purple Birds returned to their winning ways with a 70-55 victory over winless Manasquan while South River fell to G-Force Gold in a battle of haves and have nots from Division B, 46-34. Standings for Division A and Division B are below.

UNION, NJ–On Thursday afternooon, GMC Hoops received new information on the Kean Pre-Summer League that started last Monday. Tom Wagenblast, the assistant men’s basketball coach at Kean, provided the records to date of the GMC teams that are participating. Twelve teams are slated to play in this league including four from the Greater Middlesex Conference. Below is the records of the GMC teams in this year’s Kean Pre-Summer League:
