Just got in about 45 minutes ago from the game played between East Brunswick and West Windsor-Plainsboro South. After getting out late, and having to run some errands, I didn’t get to the game until just before halftime with East Brunswick already leading by a 14-0 score. EB had a chance to get more points when Mauro Tucci found Tim O’Sullivan for a 33 yard pass play to the Pirates one yard line. However, time ran out before the Bears could knock it in
However, in the second half, Mauro Tucci went on the attack in the air by throwing two touchdown passes. One to Jared Lynch and the other to Mike Weber to put the Bears in front 27-0. East Brunswick then ran out the clock in the fourth quarter with a nice drive mostly made up of running plays. EBHS almost got the ball in the end zone again, but penalties backed up the Bears, and they were just content to run out the clock. In other action, Sayreville and Middletown North combined for five turnovers in just the first 12:08, but the Bombers were able to get on the board with 15 points in the first period, and hold on for the 21-0 victory. Sayreville and East Brunswick, which played each other several weeks ago (Bombers won 34-13), will face each other again next week in the Central Jersey Group IV semifinals.
