Here are video highlights from St. Peter’s 51-44 victory over Siena in the 2011-12 MAAC season opener at Yanitelli Center in Jersey City. The Peacocks opened up strong with a 15-1 lead as Karee Ferguson scored all seven of his points while Chris Prescott (15 points) netted two threes. St. Peter’s led 27-18 at the half, and started the second half with a 13-6 run that included five points by Prescott, four points by Yvon Raymond (16 points and 9 rebounds), and four points from Darius Conley (10 points and 6 rebounds) to take a 40-24 lead with 14:30 left.
Siena then held the Peacocks scoreless for 9:47 while putting together a 16-0 tear to tie the game at 40-40 with 5:20 left. However, St. Peter’s was able to pull the game out as Raymond made one of two from the line with 4:43 to go, Prescott banked in a shot off a drive from the right wing, Raymond hit two more free throws with 2:47 left, and then Colonia’s Brandon Hall got his only three points of the game when he knocked in a triple form the left wing with 1:51 left for a 48-40 lead en route to the 51-44 victory.
