SOUTH AMBOY, NJ–On Friday, GMC Hoops opened its 12th season of covering Greater Middlesex Conference Boys Basketball with a trip to Cardinal McCarrick High School for the season opener involving the Little Eagles and Baby Barrons. Woodbridge jumped out to a 23-2 first quarter lead, and never looked back in a 59-16 victory. Ryan Alcott led all scorers with 16 points while Ronnie McGurry chipped in with 13 points and Tyler Smith added 10 points. Below is the play-by-play from the contest.

First Quarter

7:40–WBG scores on follow Ryan Alcott for a 2-0 lead.
7:21–WBG–draws foul on follow and makes one of two FTs
7:00–WBG–Ronnie McGurry scores on follow after steal for layup attempt by Zaire Robinson.
6:40–WBG–jumper from right wing by McGurry for 8-0 lead.
6:10–CM–Clinton Rowe (#11) draws foul, and makes two FTs for an 8-2 lead.
