SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–The date for the 2008 GMCBCA Senior All-Star Game has been set. On Sunday afternoon, GMC Hoops received a call from Cardinal McCarrick head coach, Joe Lewis, regarding the showcase event. Lewis, who is slated to be one of the coaches participating in the game since he led the Eagles to the GMCT Championship this past season, informed the web site that the game is scheduled for April 17th at Perth Amboy High School.
Based on past experiences, it is likely that this game will be the nightcap of a Girls/Boys Senior All-Star Game Doubleheader with the Girls game starting at 6:00 PM followed by the Boys contest at 8:00 PM. The web site does intend to cover this game. Since the site was launched in the summer of 2000, only two GMCBCA All-Star Games have been covered: 2001 and 2006. As of this time, GMC Hoops has not received the rosters for this game, but Lewis indicated that they will be announced on Tuesday so the site should be getting them then. Stay tuned.
