Here are highlights from the action in Perth Amboy Tech’s overtime victory over Middlesex in the opening round of the 2016 Central Jersey Group 1 State Playoffs. After Middlesex forced overtime on a three pointer by Chris Hendricks with under five seconds to go in regulation, Amboy Tech got a three pointer by Javon Fisher to take a 50-49 lead, and never trailed again as the Patriots outscored the Blue Jays in the extra session by a 12-10 margin for a 59-57 victory. All five starters scored in double figures including Fisher, who had a team high 14 points while Kyle Gregory added 13, Pedro Gonzalez added 12, and Kyrie Byers and Erick Negro chipped in with 10. Hendricks finished with a game high 23 points while Ryan Coke added 12, and Tyler Ha chipped in with 11 in a losing cause.
