Here are highlights from 2nd half action in the 2016 Group 1 State Semifinal between Florence of the Burlington County Scholastic League and Paulsboro of the Colonial Conference. The Florence Flashes took a 25-24 lead at the half, but after several lead changes to open the third period, Paulsboro went on a 12-0 run to take a 40-29 lead, and increased that advantage to 16 in the fourth quarter before a late three by Florence shaped the final 61-48 score.
Tyrique King led the way for Paulsboro with a game high 25 points while John Pelligrini and Kyle Jones each chipped in with 10 points. Jabril Endmond led Florence with 19 points while Nick Hazel added 14 and Mitchel Tanzini chipped in with 8. The Red Raiders improved to 27-4 on the season, and punched a ticket to Rutgers for the second straight year with the win. Florence finished its season at 19-10.
