Baptiste-Ousley Becomes New McCarrick JV Coach

Replaces Pat Kennedy As The Junior Eagles Coach

SOUTH AMBOY, NJ–Recently, GMC Hoops learned that former Cardinal McCarrick standout, and current assistant coach, Kevin Baptiste-Ousley, has been named the new JV boys basketball coach at Cardy Mac. Baptiste-Ousley was a member of the 2002-03 McCarrick squad that won the school’s first ever county/conference championship by winning that year’s GMCT over St. Joseph’s. The Eagles that year, which were led by GMC Hoops Player of the Year, Mika Wilson as well as Mike Garcia and Billy Wagner, won the GMC Blue Division title as well as the Non-Public B South Championship over Wildwood Catholic en route to a 23-6 record. The team was selected as one of the ten greatest teams during the first five years of GMC Hoops.

Baptiste-Ousley replaces Pat Kennedy, who had his share of success at the JV level with McCarrick. Taking over for Jesse Holovacko before the 2004-05 campaign, Kennedy led the Eagles to five Elite Eight finishes in the EB/GMC JV Tournament, three straight final four appearances, and one JV tourney title over Bishop Ahr in 2008. The Junior Eagles also reached the EB/GMC JV Finals in 2009, but lost to Monroe. The success at the JV level that McCarrick has had under both Holovacko and Kennedy has helped build the foundation of success the program has achieved under Joe Lewis.
