Brunswick Classic Returns This Year

Holiday Tourney Featuring All Four Brunswick Schools Comes Back After Two-Year Hiatus

MONMOUTH JUNCTION, NJ–Recently, GMC Hoops learned that the Brunswick Classic Holiday Tournament is returning this year after a two year hiatus. With North Brunswick playing in the GMC Red the past two seasons, the Raiders played against East Brunswick and South Brunswick twice a year.

Consequently, NBTHS opted to play in the Hillsborough Hoops Holiday Tournament. East Brunswick and South Brunswick played in the Brunswick-Windsor Classic. Two years ago, New Brunswick played in the Metuchen Bulldogs Holiday Tournament. Last year, the Zebras didn’t play in a holiday tourney at all.

With the new division realignments for the 2016-17 winter season, North Brunswick moved down to the White again, and now would be able to play either East Brunswick or South Brunswick in a crossover since the Raiders were no longer playing EB and SBHS twice in a season. So, the tourney returns in December 2016.

The first round games are scheduled for Tuesday, December 27th. Semifinal winners and losers will play again on Thursday, December 29th. GMC Hoops will be posting the schedule and brackets for the tournament soon.
