Colonia’s Archille Now Playing NAIA D2 College Hoops at Wilberforce University

Former Middlesex County College Standout Playing College Ball in Ohio

WILBERFORCE, OH–After two very successful seasons under the guidance of Middlesex County College head coach, George Jackson, former Colonia big man, Berruche Archille is now playing college ball at NAIA Division II Wilberforce University in Ohio according to MCC’s Quo Vadis newspaper.

Archille, who also played AAU ball for Merrill Park, was a force for the Blue Colts of MCC in 2015-16. According to stats kept at njcaa.org, Archille led the Colts with 15.3 points per game on 52 percent shooting from the floor and nearly 70 percent from the charity stripe while also averaging 8.9 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per contest. Archille led the team in rebounds and blocks while placing 2nd in scoring.

During his freshman campaign the year before in 2014-15, Archille averaged 13.9 points per game on 47.2 percent from the floor and 69.8 percent shooting from the foul line. Archille also averaged 7.6 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks per contest. The Colonia native was third in scoring while leading the Colts in rebounding and blocked shots. Middlesex finished 15-14 overall including a 10-11 mark in the Garden State Athletic Conference in 2015-16 after going 22-8 overall including a 14-4 mark in the GSAC in 2014-15. The Colts were eliminated in the opening round of the Region 19 playoffs by Atlantic Cape Community College (71-55) in 2015-16. The year before, MCC reached the Region 19 semifinals before losing by two to Camden (64-62) at Brookdale C.C.

So far this season, Wilberforce University is off to a great start with a 4-1 record with the only defeat coming on Friday against Roosevelt of Illinois (54-51). The Bulldogs are averaging 88.8 points per game while giving up only 66.2 points per game.
