Game Outlook

This game wasn’t expected to be a very important one when the season began, but South Plainfield’s victory over Bishop Ahr last week at home changed all of that. The Tigers have been gradually improving since the end of the season last year. Led by head coach, Flip McGuane, the Tigers run the Wing-T offense with Brendan Wilson anchoring the team at QB. Quinn Cochrane is a player to watch in the defensive backfield for the Tigers. SPHS also has solid defensive lineman with Liam McDermott and Frank Malecki.

Meanwhile, Perth Amboy has a solid offense led by QB Fonzie Saucedo, who helped put the Panthers on the map last season with a victory over Bishop Ahr. He has talent around him with the likes of Amboy Tech hoops standout Rashad Adams at wideout and Ray Arce at running back. Amboy also has gotten solid efforts from Rodery Jimenez and Christian Pacheco. The Panthers will be at home, and the rain will give their passing game an edge.
