GMC Gridiron–Week Four–Quick Picks

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–It’s week four of the GMC football season, and GMC Gridiron has not been able to put together any picks yet this season. So, with time a wasting, here are some quick picks for Week #4. GMC Gridiron plans to have more detailed outlooks on games next week.

GMC Gridiron–Week Four–Quick Picks

  • North Brunswick at Old Bridge–The Knights have moved out of the tough part of the schedule, and are playing at home against GMC Red newcomer North Brunswick. OBHS should win here. Prediction: –Old Bridge wins 28-10.
  • St. Joseph’s at Bishop Ahr–A start of a new rivalry could begin with an upset. Bishop Ahr and St. Joe’s have already played J.F. Kennedy this season with the Trojans struggling on the road while St. Joe’s won over the Mustangs at home. BGA is at home and has been around longer. St. Joe’s has been looking forward to this game, and they could pull a surprise here. Prediction: –St. Joseph’s wins 17-14
  • Monroe at East Brunswick–The Falcons of Monroe are off to a good start with two wins in their first three games while EB is still searching for its first win. Monroe should win easily here. Prediction: –Monroe wins 31-7.
  • South Brunswick at Edison–The Vikings should roll here in anticipation for its matchup against Piscataway next week. Prediction: –South Brunswick wins 28-7
  • Sayreville at J.P. Stevens–The Bombers should win big here over a J.P. Stevens team that got manhandled against P-Way last week.
  • South Plainfield at Woodbridge–The Tigers will be looking to rebound this week against a Barrons team that lost to Monroe last week after opening the season with two wins. This could be a tough one for the Barrons, especially if the Tigers can get the ball in the end zone this time. Prediction: Woodbridge wins 21-10.
  • New Brunswick at Carteret–The Ramblers should win easily here after defeating more formidable squads in St. Joseph’s, Raritan, and South Plainfield the first three weeks of the season.  New Brunswick is playing better, but has lost 23 straight.  Prediction:  Carteret wins 28-6.
  • Metuchen at Cardiinal McCarrick–The Bulldogs and Eagles are coming off tough losses to Shore Conference powerhouses in Shore Regional and Keyport. Metuchen is still searching for its first win while the Eagles will be looking to bounce back to .500. Jahmal Pryce will look to score against a Bulldog defense anchored by Dorian Miller. Prediciton: Metuchen wins 17-16.
  • South River at Shore Regional–Rams are off to a good start with three straight wins, but Shore Regional presents the toughest test of the season for the team. The Blue Devils soundly defeated a Metuchen team that South River edged only 17-12 the week before. Prediction: Shore Regional wins 28-7.
  • J.F. Kennedy at Ocean Township–Another tough game for the GMC against a strong Shore Conference squad. Ocean Township is looking for its second win of the season while JFK is still searching for its first. Predicition: Ocean Township wins 31-7.
  • Perth Amboy at Colonia–The Patriots will be at home, and have much more firepower coming back this season after Amboy lost the likes of Faustino Saucedo and hoops standout Rashad Adams to graduation. Predicition: Colonia wins 28-7.
  • Highland Park at Spotswood–In past years, the Owls would be heavy favorites in this game, but after losing their first three games including lopsided losses to South River (35-7) and Middlesex (32-8), Highland Park is going to have a tough time winning this one against a Spotswood team that is one of the contenders in the Blue Division and beat Middlesex. Predicition: Spotswood wins 24-12.
  • Dunellen at Keansburg–Dunellen has started the season with two wins in their first three games including a solid win over Mater Dei last week. The Destroyers will be facing a Keansburg team on the road that defeated Spotswood in week two. Prediction: Dunellen wins 21-20.
  • Middlesex at Keyport–Keyport has feasted on Middlesex County teams so far this season with wins over Highland Park and Cardinal McCarrick. Middlesex was defeated by Holmdel in week two. The Jays are coming off a solid win over Highland Park, which lost to Keyport in week two. The Red Raiders will face a tough challenge from the Jays, but should prevail.Prediction: Keyport wins 28-24
