MATAWAN, NJ–On Wednesday evening, GMC Hoops traveled over to Matawan High School to take in the Championship Game of the 2015 Matawan Huskies Classic between Old Bridge and Matawan. In a game of runs, Old Bridge broke away from a 43-41 lead midway through the fourth with a 17-5 tear to end the game for the 60-46 win.
Junior forward, Kyle Parris, who scored 8 of Old Bridge’s first 13 points of the game, came up with a huge three pointer from the top of the key, and then deflected a pass that was picked up by teammate Connor Romano, who drove in for a layup to take a 48-41 lead. Romano then added a three pointer with about 1:20 remaining to help put a wrap on the victory.
Parris ended up with 16 points for the Knights while Romano chipped in with 14, and Stephen Strom added 9 including two second half threes. Randy Myers led Matawan with 16 points while Reggie Tawiah added 13 in the loss. Below are game notes from the action:
