NOTE: GMC Hoops only saw action from the first half of this game since it had to head out to Ewing High School to see South Brunswick in action against Lawrence in an 8:00 PM contest at the 2016 Moody Park Summer League.
COLONIA, NJ–In the second game of the playoff tripleheader at the 2016 Colonia JV Summer League at Colonia High School, third seeded Colonia was taking on sixth seeded Spotswood. The two teams went at it in a very entertaining and back and forth first half with neither team having a lead bigger than five points. Colonia would tie the game at 17-17 on a three pointer from the left wing with about two minutes left in the first half, but Spotswood would take a 19-17 lead at the half on a layup with about a minute left by Matt Fuzesi. Colonia would prevail 51-46 though thanks to a 34-27 showing in the second half. Below are game notes from the action:
First Half

7:41–COL–scores on a layup for four unanswered points to take a 12-9 lead.
7:09–SPOTS–three pointer to tie the game at 12-12.
2:00–COL–hits a three pointer from the left wing to end a 5-2 SPOTS run and tie the score at 17-17.
1:00–SPOTS–Fuzesi scores on a layup from the left side for a 19-17
Second Half
COL–outscored SPOTS by a 34-27 margin in the second half for a 51-46 victory.
