RAHWAY, NJ–After being over at Linden for St. Joe’s quarterfinal matchup against Middletown North in the playoffs there, GMC Hoops traveled over to Rahway High School for the playoffs in the 2016 Rahway Summer League. In the first semifinal, top seeded J.P. Stevens took on fourth seeded Rahway in a rematch of last year’s championship.
Leading 15-13 after a Rahway score in the first minute of the second half, Stevens embarked on a 15-0 run over a span of eight and a half minutes to take a 30-13 lead with 10:22 remaining. Rahway rallied with a 22-7 surge to pull within a basket at 37-35 with 1:17 remaining, but Rishav Ghosh converted a three point play with 1:06 left to help seal the 42-37 victory.
