 NEPTUNE, NJ–In one of two 9:00 PM games involving teams from the Greater Middlesex Conference, South Amboy, a Group I school from the GMC Gold, took on Howell, a Group IV school from the Shore Conference’s Class A North Division. For the first 27 minutes or so of the contest, the Guvs, led by the play of Max Garcia and Julian Munoz, gave the Rebels all that they could handle, trailing only 23-18 with about 13 minutes to play. However, Howell put together a crucial 8-0 run over just a 2:13 stretch to take a 31-18 lead, and continued to build on that by closing the game with a 14-4 tear for the 45-22 victory. Below are game notes from the action.
