GMC Hoops Game Notes–Team Shore vs. Larson Ford–Jersey Shore Basketball League–July 13, 2016

WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ–In the nightcap of the Wednesday doubleheader at the 2016 Jersey Shore Basketball League, Team Shore took on Larson Ford. After a delay to the start of the game, Larson Ford jumped out to a 17-5 lead over the first 4:12 of the game as former Linden High School and Kean University standout, Jonathan Jones went to work for several scores and Dan Singleton added a score to cap the run.

First Quarter

5:48–LF–jumps out to a 17-5 lead on a jumper by Don Bosco Prep and East Stroudsburg standout Dajon Todmann, several scores by Jonathan Jones, and a bucket by Dan Singleton. Colonia’s Brandon Hall scored 3 of the 5 points for Team Shore including a steal for a layup and one of two from the line.

4:09–TS–calls a timeout after Larson Ford scores the last four points including a putback to take a 21-11 lead. Team Shore had closed the gap to 17-11 with a 6-0 burst.

0:00–LF–leads 32-22. Both teams ended the quarter by scoring the last 11 points.


Second Quarter

6:09–TS–pulls within 38-30 after an 8-6 run is capped by a three pointer from the left wing.

5:31–LF–calls 20 second timeout still leading 38-30.

4:44–TS–closed within five on a three pointer from the left wing by Georgian Court University’s Mike Rotondo for a 38-33 Larson Ford lead.

0:00–LF–leads 56-42. Larson Ford ends half on an 18-9 run capped by a Singleton layup in the closing seconds of the half. Jones also had several scores during the run.


Third Quarter

6:38–LF–timeout–leads 59-49. TS starts the 2nd half on a 7-3 run.

4:48–LF–leads 63-51 after scoring 4 of the last 6 points including a dunk from Todmann and a score from Jones.

2:37–LF–20 second timeout–leading 71-54 after scoring 8 of the last 11 points including a basket by Jonathan Jones and a score from Devin Davis.

0:00–LF–leads 81-58–ends quarter on a 10-4 run including two scores from Dan Singleton. One of those scores came on a fadeaway jumper from the right baseline with the shot clock running out, and a layup with time running out in the period. Jonathan Jones and Dajon Todmann also added scores for Larson Ford.


Fourth Quarter

6:44–LF–leads 89-69 following a score by Jones that ended an 11-6 spurt by Team Shore.

0:00–LF wins 112-94. Both teams heated up offensively over the last 6:44 of the game as they combined for 48 points. Brian Kenny of Howell and Caldwell University sank a number of threes down the stretch in a losing cause for Team Shore. Brandon Hall also sank a three as well for Team Shore. Todmann had his second dunk of the half for Larson Ford while Singleton and Jones added scores. Michael Lamb also got into the act with some scores as well.
