NOTE: These highlights are from the 2nd half only. I didn’t get over to this game until halftime since I was at another tournament game that ended 10 minutes before this game began.
Here are highlights from second half action in the Championship Game of the 2015 Monroe Township High School Holiday Tournament between Perth Amboy and Robbinsville.
Led by Jose Genao, who scored 11 points, and big man, Jesus Garcia, who scored 10 points in the opening half, Perth Amboy jumped out to a 36-23 lead at the intermission. The Panthers then opened the third period on a 10-2 tear that included a nifty spin move for a layin and then a three point play by Genao for a 46-25 lead. Robbinsville closed the gap to 48-33 at the end of the third with an 8-2 run, but couldn’t get much closer as Amboy pulled away with a 62-43 victory.
Genao finished with a team high 20 points while Victor Soto, who connected on a three pointer early in the fourth quarter, chipped in with 13, and Jesus Garcia added 12. Lucas Olshevski led Robbinsville in defeat with a game high 22 while Tino Gonzalez chipped in with 10.
