Here are highlights from the action in 2nd seeded South Brunswick’s win over 10th seeded J.F. Kennedy in the 2017 GMCT Quarterfinals at New Brunswick High School.
South Brunswick outscored J.F. Kennedy in each of the first three periods en route to a 49-33 lead, and coasted from there to a 67-52 victory. Senior Mike Ugarte led the Vikings with 19 points while Kunal Thakral chipped in with 13.
Bendji Pierre led Kennedy with 18 points while Kobie Wells chipped in with 10. South Brunswick advanced to play 3rd seeded Sayreville, a 54-39 winner over 6th seeded Carteret in another quarterfinal, in the Semifinals at South Brunswick HS on Wednesday.
