GMC Hoops Highlights–February 19, 2017–GMCT Quarterfinals

Here are the best highlights from all four games in the 2017 Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament Elite Eight held at New Brunswick High School.

In the first game, third seeded Sayreville punched its ticket to the GMCT Final Four for the 2nd time in four years with a 54-39 victory over Carteret. The Bombers will play second seeded South Brunswick, which defeated upstart 10th seeded J.F. Kennedy by the score of 67-52.

In the third game, fourth seeded Woodbridge overcame an early 8-0 deficit to eventually lead by 20 points in the fourth quarter before fifth seeded Old Bridge made a late run to make the score more respectable in a 63-54 WHS victory. The Barrons will once again face top seeded St. Joseph’s in the semifinals. The Falcons jumped out to an 8-0 lead on 9th seeded Piscataway, and never looked back in an 81-57 win.
