Here are highlights from the action in Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s win over Woodbridge on the second day of the 2017 Eric LeGrand Classic at Kean University.
After being outscored 13-7 in the first quarter, Scotch Plains-Fanwood outscored Woodbridge by a 34-17 margin over the middle two periods to take a 41-30 third quarter lead en route to a 54-47 victory. Tommy Drubulis and Nigel Nelson led the way for the Raiders with 13 points while Teddy Willmott chipped in with 10.
Senior guard, Quran Robinson led all scorers with a game high 14 points including three treys for Woodbridge. Kemari Persol chipped in with 10 in a losing cause. Woodbridge outscored Scotch Plains by a 21-9 margin from beyond the arc, but the Raiders outscored the Barrons by a margin of 32-16 from within the arc.
With the victory, Scotch Plains improved its record to 6-0 against teams from the Greater Middlesex Conference so far this season. Woodbridge, which defeated Immaculata less than 24 hours earlier at the Coaches vs. Cancer Shootout, fell to 9-2 overall.
