Here are highlights from the action in Bishop Ahr’s win over Carteret in a GMC Blue Division Showdown toward the end of January 2017.
GMC Hoops took a short trip over to Bishop Ahr High School for the Blue Division Showdown between the eighth ranked Trojans and the seventh ranked Carteret Ramblers.
Bishop Ahr controlled much of the first half with Alex Santiago leading the way with 10 points as the Trojans led 30-22 at the half. Over the next 9 minutes or so, Carteret outscored Ahr by a 25-17 margin to tie the game at 47-47 early in the fourth.
Then, Ahr put the game away by finishing the contest on a 23-7 surge including 12 unanswered points for the 70-54 win. Santiago finished with a game high 23 points while Deontae Crawford chipped in with a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds. Kieran Hodder also scored in double figures with 10 points while Sean Kudelka had 4 points and 10 boards.
Jemar Jordan led the way in defeat for Carteret with 17 points while Isaiah Daniels-Porter and Kahir Raymond each chipped in with 9. The win gave Bishop Ahr its fourth straight victory and 9th in its last 11 games while the loss snapped Carteret’s seven game winning streak.
Bishop Ahr is now only a game and a half out of first place, and only one back of Carteret in the loss column.
