Here are highlights from Scotch Plains win over J.F. Kennedy on the final day of regular season action at the 2016 Rahway Summer League. J.F. Kennedy finished out its regular season schedule with a contest against Scotch Plains of the Union County Conference. The Mustangs jumped out to a 13-6 lead, but the Raiders rallied back with an 11-0 run for a four point edge late in the first half.
Kyle Heaney scored the last five JFK points to end the first half and scored the first basket for the Mustangs in the second half, but Scotch Plains seized control of the game with an 8-0 run for a 34-27 lead, and then put together a 19-12 surge for a 53-39 advantage with under four minutes to play.
Heaney keyed an 8-0 rally by Kennedy that pulled the Mustangs to within six at 53-47 with 1:10 left, but Scotch Plains put the game away with a three pointer with 34 seconds left for the 56-47 victory.
