Trailing 7-3 early on, the Hawks of JPS gradually took control by finishing the first half on a 15-6 tear including a jumper from the left baseline by Rishav Ghosh with three seconds left in the first half for an 18-13 lead.
The Hawks increased their advantage to ten at 30-20 by going on a 12-7 spurt at the start of the second half before Edison rallied with an 8-2 burst including a layups by Christian Wantong and Joe Cudakiewicz and free throws by Cudakiewicz and Justin Turner to pull within four with a little over four minutes remaining. Stevens wouldn’t let the arch rival Eagles get any closer as the Hawks pulled away for the 43-34 victory.
