Here are highlights from the action in Colonia’s last second win over Point Pleasant Beach at the 2015 Linden Summer League. In the nightcap of the GMC Hoops tripleheader at the 2015 Linden Summer League on Wednesday, Colonia took on Point Pleasant Beach.
Late in the second quarter, Colonia, which lost to Point Beach over the holidays in the Butch Kowal Holiday Tournament at Rahway High School this past season, appeared to have control of the contest after a 7-0 run to take a 31-18 lead, but the Garnet Gulls battled back to tie the game twice in the second half at 33-33 and 53-53.
Both times though, the Patriots found a way to retake control thanks to the efforts of Chase Barneys, who drove to the basket for a layup in the closing seconds to lift CHS to a 55-53 victory.
