Here are the video highlights from the 2012 NJSIAA Non-Public A State Championship between St. Joseph’s of Metuchen, the Non-Public A South Champion, and Seton Hall Prep, the Non-Public A North Champion at Pine Belt Arena in Toms River.
Trailing 12-6 after yielding an 8-0 run to the Pirates, the Falcons went on a 41-14 surge over a span of 14 minutes to take a 47-26 lead. Karl Towns sparked the run with a turnaround jumper and a three pointer while Danny Brix added a couple scores and Quenton DeCosey had a dunk to highlight it. Towns then capped the run with a trey in the early third.
Seton Hall Prep rallied to pull within six points late in the fourth, but couldn’t get any closer as St. Joe’s won its first ever state title, 77-68. DeCosey ended up with 30 points, Brix chipped in with 19, and Towns added 12. Dallas Anglin and Stephon Mosely each had 23 for Seton Hall Prep while Spencer Weisz chipped in with 12.
