Here are highlights from the last 29 minutes of action in the 2017 North Jersey Section 2 Group 3 Quarterfinals between fifth seeded Barringer and fourth seeded Carteret at Carteret High School.
Carteret jumped out to a 10-0 lead over the first three or so minutes of the first quarter, and led 40-31 at the half after finishing the second quarter on a 12-2 run.
However, Barringer, which outscored the Ramblers by a margin of 71-46 over the last 29 minutes of the game, put together an 18-3 third quarter, and a 22-13 fourth quarter to come away with a 71-56 victory.
Luis Curiel led the way for the Blue Bears with a double-double of 28 points and 14 rebounds while teammate James McNeil chipped in with 21 points including 11 from the foul line. Isaiah Daniels-Porter led Carteret with 20 points and 9 rebounds while Jemar Jordan chipped in with 18 points and 8 rebounds.
Carteret, which defeated Somerville in the opening round, finished its season at 19-9 while Barringer improved to 18-10 and advanced to the North Jersey Section 2 Group 3 semifinals against top seeded Rahway.
