Here are highlights from the action in the season finale between FINCC and South River at the 2016 Monroe Sports Center Fall League in Monroe Township.
Leading 8-4 with 14:00 left in the first half, South River went on a 15-4 tear that included threes from Travis Thomas, Joey Nigro, and Derrick Whitaker for a 23-8 lead. FINCC would battle back though despite another three by Silvio Cruz that helped South River take a 35-27 lead into the intermission.
The Rams actually led 56-49 midway through the second half when FINCC finished the game on a 12-4 spurt that included a layup with 32 seconds left, a game tying three pointer with 11 seconds to go, and one of two from the line with 6 seconds remaining to come away with a 61-60 win.
With the victory, FINCC finished the fall season at MSC with a 2-6 record while South River closed out the fall at 3-5.
