GMC Hoops Highlights–October 16, 2016–Old Bridge vs. Patrick School–Hudson Catholic Fall League

Here are highlights from the action in Old Bridge’s win over the Patrick School in a Week 6 contest from the Hudson Catholic Fall League. In the nightcap of the Week 6 quadrupleheader at the 2016 Hudson Catholic Fall League, Old Bridge took on the Patrick School. Bolstered by a three pointer and layup by Brandon Milling and a two handed jam and a pull-up jumper by Kyle Paris, the Knights jumped out to an 11-2 lead.

Then, after the Patrick School put together a 7-1 spurt to close the gap to three at 12-9, Old Bridge finished the first half on a 19-4 tear including two three pointers and a layup by Will Osvald to take a 31-13 lead at the intermission. The Knights then opened the second half by scoring 8 of the first 12 points including two free throws by Paris, a pair of free throws by Rich Calandrino, and transition layup by Osvald for a 39-17 lead with 10:59 remaining.

The Celtics from Elizabeth finally woke up, and made a spirited run to end the contest. The Patrick School finished the game with a 28-14 surge including 14 of the last 20 points to only lost 53-45. Old Bridge still managed to salt away the win by going 6 of 9 from the charity stripe including a perfect 4 of 4 from the line by Paris down the stretch.
