GMC Hoops Seeds the Upcoming GMC Tournament

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–A little less than 36 hours from now, the GMCT Seeding Committee will meet at Spotswood High School to seed the 2017 Greater Middlesex Conference Boys and Girls Tournaments. In preparation for the seeding, GMC Hoops seeded the tourney field as best as he could see fit. Below are the seeds with brief explanations.

  1. St. Joseph’s (19-1)–Defeated South Brunswick twice, Split with Old Bridge. First in GMC Red.
  2. Sayreville (16-5)–Tied for first in GMC White; Defeated Woodbridge twice.
  3. South Brunswick (17-3)–Second in GMC Red. Defeated Old Bridge twice, and North Brunswick.
  4. Old Bridge (15-7)–Third in GMC Red. Defeated St. Joseph’s and Bishop Ahr.
  5. Woodbridge (15-4)–Tied for first in GMC White; Defeated Carteret.
  6. Carteret (17-5)–First in GMC Blue; Split with Bishop Ahr and beat Amboy Tech, North Brunswick, and Colonia.
  7. Bishop Ahr (13-8)–2nd in Blue–Split with Carteret, Beat EB, PWay, JFK, and Colonia.
  8. Perth Amboy Tech (17-3)–Won GMC Gold. Defeated Metuchen.
  9. Piscataway (11-8)–Fourth in GMC Red. Defeated South Brunswick.
  10. J.F. Kennedy (8-9)–Tied for 3rd in GMC White. Won 7 of last 9. Defeated North Brunswick twice and Sayreville.
  11. North Brunswick (10-10)–Tied for 3rd in GMC White. Defeated Sayreville and East Brunswick.
  12. East Brunswick (10-10)–5th in GMC Red. Defeated Piscataway and Old Bridge.
  13. South Plainfield (8-11)–3rd in GMC Blue. Won 7 of last 10. Defeated Bishop Ahr and J.P. Stevens.
  14. J.P. Stevens (6-13)–6th in GMC Red. Defeated Old Bridge, Perth Amboy, and Edison.
  15. Perth Amboy (6-14)–7th in GMC Red. Defeated Carteret and North Brunswick head to head.
  16. Timothy Christian (15-4)–2nd in Gold. Defeated Middlesex and South River.
  17. Edison (8-13)–5th in White; Won 6 of last 8; Beat South Plainfield (59-27) and J.F. Kennedy.
  18. Middlesex (10-9)–4th in GMC Blue; Beat South River, Metuchen, Spotswood, and Dunellen twice. Also defeated Highland Park.
