SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ–Well, once again, my wireless device lost battery power, and I was not able to give more updates from the second semifinal between Bishop Ahr and Piscataway. The Chiefs got 10 straight points from junior Tajae Sharpe and a clutch three pointer in the fourth quarter by Greg Davis to pull out a hard fought, 53-44 victory. Here is the play-by-play.
First Quarter
Piscataway jumped out to a 9-2 lead before Dillon Salva connected on a field goal that got a kind bounce, and then Ryan Blakely hit a three. Â Vik Singh hit a three pointer for a five point lead at 12-7, but then Roger Kilgore scored a basket to close the gap to three at the end of a quarter. Â Greg Davis hit a jumper and a three for five points in the quarter for P-Way.

Second Quarter
3:45 to go in the half–Piscataway leads 19-15. Â Ahr had gotten a score from Dillon Salva to take a 13-12 lead, but then the Chiefs scored six of the next eight points as Greg Davis splashed two threes. Â Davis has 11 points including three treys for P-Way.
2:54–Chiefs have scored five of the last seven points for a 23-17 lead including a drive for a layup by Thierno Diallo.
0:17–Piscataway calls a timeout…Chiefs still lead by six at 27-21. Â
0:00–We go to the half with Piscataway leading 27-21. Â Blakely missed a three point attempt, and Herbie Donerson was unable to get a shot off in time to end the half.

Third Quarter
5:23–Piscataway calls timeout…Bishop Ahr got one of two free throws from Dillon Salva for a 27-24 Chiefs lead. Â
4:55–P-Way–Vik Singh drew a charge on Rashad Kilgore after BGA got a steal by Ryan Blakely.
4:36–P-Way–gets jump ball.
4:27–P-Way–turns the ball over. Â Pass by Jelani Jackson to Tajae Sharpe goes out of bounds.
4:15–BGA–Kenny Virden scores on a layin off a give and go with Rashad Kilgore for a 27-26 P-Way lead.
3:54–BGA–Roger Kilgore scores a layin as he is fouled, but missed the bonus free throw for a 28-27 lead…First Ahr lead of the game.
2:32–BGA–retakes the lead as Salva fakes up, takes a dribble, and sinks a baseline jumper for a 30-29 score.
1:56–BGA–Salva strikes again as he scores down low while being fouled for a three point play, and Ahr’s biggest lead at 33-29.
1:27–P-Way–timeout after Thierno Diallo sinks short jumper from left side for a 33-31 Ahr lead. Â Trojans zone defense is causing some trouble for Chiefs.
1:07–P-Way–trying to step it up on the defensive end, and it gets results as Diallo swipes a steal, but he can’t score.
24.2–BGA–Blakely at the line..Trojans now in the bonus…Blakely sinks both for a 35-31 lead.
0.0–P-Way–Shot by Singh can’t fall, and BGA leads 35-31 after three.

Fourth Quarter
5:01–BGA–calls timeout…P-Way opens fourth with a 9-2 run…all nine points scored by Sharpe including a three at the 7:34, a jumper after the Chiefs drew a charge at the 7:06 mark, a drive through the middle for a layup, and then a basket and a foul. Â Sharpe made the bonus free throw after the timeout for 10 points in the quarter.
4:04–P-Way–Davis buries a three pointer from the right side for a 44-37 lead.
3:28–P-Way–Jackson sinks two free throws for a 46-37 lead. Â Ahr missed two front ends of one and ones during this stretch and only have two points in the quarter.
2:32–P-Way–timeout–follows another drive to the hoop by Sharpe for a 48-40 lead. Â Roger Kilgore had made one of two from the foul line, and Kevin Douyan banked in a shot as he was fouled, but missed the bonus free throw. Â Ahr is one of five from the lline over the last several minutes.
1:49–BGA–Blakely makes one of two from the foul line for a 48-41 P-Way lead.
1:21–BGA–timeout. Â Following timeout…P-Way–Davis makes one of two from the line for a 49-41 lead.
1:12–BGA–Roger Kilgore makes one of two from the line. Â P-Way leads 49-42.
48.6–BGA–Pat Widdoss sinks two free throws for a 49-44 P-Way lead.
37.2–P-Way–Jackson makes a pair of foul shots for a 51-44 lead.
27.4–P-Way–timeout.
26.5–P-Way–Jackson sinks two more free throws for a 53-44 lead.
0.0–P-Way wins 53-46 after a Salva layin in the waning moments.
