The Owls gave the Blue Jays more of a battle this year, but the Jays found a way to win in the end, 38-35. Highland Park jumped out to an 11-4 lead before Middlesex rallied with 6 of the last 8 points of the first period including a three by Tyler Ha and then scored the first 6 points of the second for a 16-13 lead.
Trailing at the half, 25-20, Highland Park scored 6 of the first 8 points of the second half including a bucket by Nasir Boykins to pull within one at 27-26. Middlesex then ended the third with a 7-1 spurt including a layup and two free throws by John Dickey for a 34-27 lead.
The Blue Jays led by nine with a little over a minute remaining in the game after scores by Jake Robel and Tyler Ha, and hung on to win, 38-35 to advance to the Championship Game against Dunellen.
