GMCT Seeding Update with Notes from James Corrigan

Here’s the latest GMCT Seeding from GMC Hoops Game of the Week play-by-play man, James Corrigan. This latest seeding takes into account the games played on Friday and Saturday. Corrigan also adds comments about some of the teams.

Some annotations:
1. St. Joes- Without a doubt the best coaching job that Dave Turco has done in his career.
2. Sayreville- Technically behind Woodbridge in the standings currently, but next week’s game against the Barrons could change everything. Still the biggest threat to Joes.
3. South Brunswick- Revenge is on the mind of the Vikings as they meet St Joes again on Saturday. Took them to the limit.
4. Woodbridge- The same goes for the Barrons, who can clinch a division title with a win over the Bombers on Friday.
5. Old Bridge
6. Piscataway
7. Carteret- A major showdown with Woodbridge looms Monday.
8. Perth Amboy Tech
9. Bishop Ahr- The GMC’s hottest team, and a legitimate dark horse. Their matchup with Piscataway is huge for seeding.
10. Kennedy- Who saw this coming? The Mustangs were picked to finish last in the White, but they have earned this spot by sweeping North Brunswick and stunning Sayreville this year. Currently in 3rd place in the White.
11. North Brunswick- Head to head win over EB in December puts the Raider Birds ahead.
12. East Brunswick- Seeing the Bears outside the top 10 is a strange sight indeed, but these Bears have not been consistent enough.
13. Perth Amboy- Win over Carteret is crucial for the Panthers.
14. Colonia- This is where it gets tricky. Colonia, South Plainfield, and Stevens are all about even. Colonia has a win over Kennedy, so that puts them over by the skin of their teeth.
15. South Plainfield- The Tigers are rewarded for being hot as of late, including a win over Stevens. SP was shorthanded in their first matchup with the Hawks, which they lost.
16. JP Stevens- A few bounces of the ball has been the difference between Stevens being in the Top 10 and being here. The unluckiest team in the county.
17. Middlesex
18. Timothy Christian- Beat South River this year, but loss to Spotswood now looks worse.
19. South River
20. Metuchen
21. Edison
22. New Brunswick- Beating Monroe and almost beating East Brunswick shows signs of life for the Zebras. Still some ways to go, but they are getting there.
23. Monroe- Their victory over Spotswood saves them about one spot. This Falcons team will take it.
24. Spotswood- Ditto
25. Piscataway Tech
26. South Amboy
27. Highland Park
28. Dunellen
29. Wardlaw
30. East Brunswick Tech
