Sayreville Surges Past Manasquan at HGHQ

NEPTUNE, NJ–On Monday night, GMC Hoops traveled out to the Hoop Group Headquarters to take in the action from the final day of the 2016 Hoop Group Headquarters Fall League. The lone GMC school in the league, Sayreville, was in action against Manasquan.

Trailing 42-35 after a 9-2 Manasquan run, Sayreville embarked on an 18-0 surge that included two treys from Ryan O’Leary and a trey by Zac Kaczmarek to take a 53-42 lead with under 9 minutes to play. Manasquan would rally though with a 10-2 tear to close within three at 55-52 with under four minutes to play.

The Warriors wouldn’t get any closer though as Jahsim Floyd got the last of his four dunks on the night with 3:02 to play for a 57-52 lead, and Manasquan could only manage a pair of free throws with 1:23 to play as Sayreville hung on for the 57-54 victory.
