WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ–On Thursday night, GMC Hoops traveled down to Wall Township High School to take in the two semifinal games from the 2016 Jersey Shore Basketball League Playoffs. In front of a pretty good crowd, both semifinal games were barnburners.

Regular season champion, and top seeded Stern’s Trailer got 48 points on 17 of 29 shooting including 11 threes from Jerome Hubbard, but it wasn’t enough as T&T Coast rallied from behind to win in overtime. Jason Westrol, who starred at Manasquan, and is the son of former J.P. Stevens head coach, AD, and Principal, Randy Westrol, made two free throws with 5.5 seconds left for the 121-120 victory.

In the nightcap, defending league champion, and second seeded Larson Ford battled back from an 80-69 third quarter deficit with a 35-19 surge to take a 104-99 lead with a little over a minute remaining. However, Seaview Jeep scored the last eight points of the game as Andrew Feeley got a tip-in, Justin Robinson netted a three pointer, and Louie Pillari scored on a breakaway dunk with 6.2 seconds left for a 107-104 victory.

Seaview Jeep will play T & T Coast for the 2016 JSBL Championship on Monday night at 7:30 PM at Wall Township High School. Former Colonia standout, Jordan McDaniel played well in defeat for Larson Ford while Mike Brunson played for T & T Coast and scored two points in limited action.
