Paterson Catholic To Close Its Doors At End Of School Year

PATERSON, NJ–On Thursday morning, GMC Hoops learned from a couple articles in the Star Ledger that Paterson Catholic High School will be closing its doors at the end of this school year in June. Paterson Catholic’s basketball team just finished its best season ever with a 28-1 overall record and third straight Passaic County Tournament Championship. PCHS finished ranked fifth in the Star-Ledger Top 20 in Boys Basketball, and 18th nationally in the USA Today.

The Cougars also reached the Non-Public B North Championship for the second straight year. Last year, PC lost to St. Patrick’s in the finals after beating St. Anthony’s in the semis. This year, the Friars exacted revenge on the Cougars by defeating them in the Championship, the final game in the history of PCHS, and a game covered by this web site. The school also boasted top teams in football and girls basketball.
