Scrimmage–Keansburg at South River–December 11, 2007

SOUTH RIVER, NJ–The Rams hosted Keansburg today in their last scrimmage before the first game of the regular season (this Friday 12/14, against Middlesex).

South River led most of the first half, getting up to a 12 point lead only to see it whittle away to a 27-27 tie at halftime. Keansburg, which qualified for the Central Jersey Group I Tournament in 2006-07, took control in the third quarter, holding the Rams to only eight points. The Titans put the game away in the fourth quarter and ended up winning by fifteen points or so.

The South River coaches used a myriad of player combinations in the third and fourth quarters, shuffling players in and out of the game — as a final tune-up, I’m sure they were looking to see which ones clicked best together.

Since I only saw the third and fourth quarters, I’m not positive who the leading scorer(s) was/were. It appears that Eric Seawright and Ed Dumas paced the Rams in scoring. Jimmy Witkowski chipped in 5 points as well.

As I previously mentioned earlier, the opening game of the season is Friday night at home against Middlesex @ 7PM. The Rams travel to Timothy Christian for a 3PM start on Saturday.
