South Brunswick Falls to NIA Prep and Marist on Final Day
HAMILTON, NJ–On Sunday afternoon, GMC Hoops traveled down to Trenton Catholic Academy to take in some of the action from the final day of action at the 2016 Summer Primetime Shootout. South Brunswick was in action with a couple of games against tough competition in NIA Prep of Newark and Marist of Bayonne.
The Vikings played well in its first game against NIA Prep. After a three pointer from the left corner by Mike Ugarte for a 45-35 lead with eight minutes to play, NIA Prep rallied with a 16-4 surge including a three point play with 7.9 seconds left for a 51-49 victory. Against Marist, the Vikes fell behind 15-5 early, but battled back with a 12-3 spurt to pull within one.
However, the Royal Knights put together a 19-9 spurt that lasted into the early part of the second half for a 37-26 lead. Marist continued to pull away by outscoring South Brunswick with a 26-16 surge to come away with a 63-42 victory. Below are some results from the action on Sunday at the Summer Primetime Shootout:
