Three New Faces from GMC at Centenary College

Freshmen Trio of Harris, Davis, and Stolte Join Former Monroe Standout Timmy Brix On 2013-14 Cyclones Roster

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ–There are lots of things happening at Centenary College in Northwest Jersey.  Over the summer, the Cyclones got a new head coach in Tim Fusina from Washington and Jefferson, and the team is coming off a 2012-13 season with its best overall record since 2009 at 13-13, and its best conference record since at least the 2004-05 season at 10-8.  Now, Centenary has three new faces from the Greater Middlesex Conference joining their roster for 2013-14.  Tyler Harris of South River, Justen Davis of Wardlaw, and Ryan Stolte of Monroe are all on the team for the upcoming 2013-14 campaign.

The trio of recent former GMC standouts will be joining senior Timmy Brix, another GMC standout from Monroe at the school.  Harris (1,209 points) was the first 1,000 point scorer at South River since his uncle Jonathan Harris accomplished the feat in 1997.  He also teamed up with Tim Darrar, who is now playing at Middlesex County College, to lead the Rams to their best record since the 2004-05 season at 17-10.  South River finished tied for third in the GMC Gold, and won its holiday tournament for the third time in four years.  Harris earned GMC Hoops Player of the Week honors twice during his four year career at South River.

Another player from the GMC Gold and 1,000 point scorer is joining Harris at Centenary.  Former Wardlaw standout, Justen Davis, a four year varsity player at the school, was the first player to reach 1,000 points at WH since Corey Boland graduated in 2008 by ending up with 1,271 points, which puts him fourth on the all time scoring list there.  Davis was a member of the first Wardlaw team to compete in the GMC, and also lead the Rams into its first ever NJSIAA Non-Public B South State Tournament in the 2010-11 season.  Both Davis and Harris, who also ended up fourth on South River’s all time scoring list, are roomates at Centenary.

Joining Harris and Davis will be another former Monroe standout to tandem with Brix in Ryan Stolte.  Stolte was a three year varsity player at Monroe including the 2011-12 season when he helped the Falcons reach the quarterfinals of both the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament and the Central Jersey Group IV State Tournament.  This past season, Stolte helped Monroe finish at 13-13 overall and tied for third in the GMC White with a 9-5 mark while also garnering an 11-8 mark in conference play.  The Cyclones play in the Colonial States Athletic Conference against the likes of Cabrini College, Baptist Bible College, Immaculata University, and Gwynedd-Mercy College.
