SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–There has been an update to the 2007-08 College Coverage schedule. While the schedule is still tenative, the web site has added a couple more games to the ledger including one game that was already covered on Friday evening between Stonehill and Queens College. GMC Hoops has embarked on another first. After covering its first college game ever during the 2006-07 season, and after making many different news articles on former GMC players doing well at the next level, the site decided to try and take it a step further by covering a number of games during the course of the 2007-08 season. Following some discussion and deliberation over the past several months, GMC Hoops has decided to follow through on this initiative and put together a tenative schedule of games. At the time of this release, GMC Hoops has placed ten games on its tentative schedule. These games are listed below:
- 11/16/2007–Stonehill vs. Queens College, 5:00 PM–NYIT Tip-Off Classic
- 11/20/2007–Muhlenberg at Drew, 8:00 PM
- 11/24/2007–Misericordia University at FDU-Florham, 3:00 PM
- 11/27/2007–Berkeley College at Centenary, 7:00 PM
- 11/28/2007–NJIT at Rider, 7:30 PM
- 12/4/2007–Bergen Community College at Middlesex County College, 7:00 PM
- 12/8/2007–Rutgers-Newark at The College of New Jersey, 3:00 PM
- 12/13/2007–Union County College at Middlesex County College, 6:00 PM
- 1/12/2008–Montclair State University at The College of New Jersey, 3:00 PM
- 2/2/2008–Camden County College at Middlesex County College, 1:00 PM
- 3/11/2008–Penn at Princeton, 7:00 PM
Again, this is a tentative schedule, and is subject to change. More games could be added while others could be taken away. This is the first year we’re trying this so there are going to be some snafus. In addition, many schools have not posted their season schedules yet. Once the schedule is more or less set in stone, we will devote a page on the web site to it much like the scrimmage schedule, and the complete season schedule. GMC Hoops has thought about doing something like this for the past year or two since it would not only be nice to follow up on former players, but also build relationships with some of the college coaches around the state of New Jersey.
