Video Highlights–Plainfield vs. St. Anthony’s–NJSIAA T of C Championship–March 21, 2011

Here are video highlights from St. Anthony’s victory over Plainfield in the Championship Game from the 2011 NJSIAA Tournament of Champions at the Izod Center in the Meadowlands. The Friars got two key three pointers from Jordan Quick and Myles Mack early in the fourth quarter to take a 47-36 lead, and didn’t let Plainfield get any closer than six points in a 61-49 victory. Mack and fellow Paterson Catholic transfer Kyle Anderson both scored 17 points while the Cardinals Sekou Harris led all scorers with 19 points including several threes.

The Cards led early by the score of 10-6 on the strength of two threes from Harris and a layup and two free throws from fellow junior Justin Sears, but St. Anthony’s rallied with 8 straight points before Dijon Allen-Jordan ended the first period with a three pointer that banked in just before the buzzer sounded for a 14-13 score. The Cardinals built off that quarter ending momentum by scoring 6 of the first 8 points of the second to take a 19-16 lead, but the Friars stormed back with a 14-7 tear including a three pointer and floater by Anderson to lead 30-26 at the intermission. St. Anthony’s would never trail again. It was the 11th T of C Championship for the Friars along with its sixth undefeated season, and fourth national championship.
