Game Notes:

This was a first round game in the 2008 Central Jersey Group I State Tournament. Metuchen, which was making its fourth straight state tournament appearance after not being in the Big Dance for almost two decades, was the 12th seed while South Amboy, making its second straight state tourney appearance after not being in it for five seasons was the fifth seed. The Bulldogs, which had a roster consisting of eight sophomores and two freshmen, still managed to make the state tourney despite an up and down year. Meanwhile, the Guvs had a memorable season winning its first ever GMC Gold Division title in Boys Basketball while making the GMCT Elite Eight. The game also marked the end of an era as the Bulldogs four year varsity player, DeJuan Miller closed out his illustrious career as the third all time leading scorer at MHS with 1,390 career points.
