
View the bracket for the 1979 Middlesex County Girls Basketball Tournament, which took place from February 12th to February 24th. This was the 5th annual Middlesex County Girls Basketball Tournament.
First-round games were played at Edison, Highland Park, J.F. Kennedy, J.P. Stevens, New Brunswick, Sayreville, South River, and St. Joseph’s High Schools. Quarterfinal games were played at East Brunswick, North Brunswick, Perth Amboy, and St. Mary’s of South Amboy High Schools.
Semifinal contests were held at Perth Amboy and South Plainfield High Schools. The Championship Game was part of a doubleheader at the Rutgers Athletic Center. Top-seeded New Brunswick, led by Terri Brathwaite, defeated South Plainfield in a battle of unbeatens to win its first MCT girls’ title (45-36).Tournament Venues
