Timothy Christian’s Rhaiyna Brown was one of three players in the Greater Middlesex Conference who averaged over 20 points-per-game this past season. Brown led the GMC with a 21.9 points-per-game scoring average and ranked 3rd in total points scored in 2024-25 with 526.
Check out the 2024-25 GMC Girls Basketball Scoring Leaders. Timothy Christian sophomore, Rhaiyna Brown, who already scored her 1,000th career point, edged Monroe’s Evangelina Francisco in the GMC this past season.
Brown led the conference with a 21.9 points-per-game average. Francisco, who became Monroe’s all-time leading scorer, was second with a 20.7 ppg scoring average although she did have the most total points with 601.
Perth Amboy’s Izabella Pardo, who also scored her 1,000th point this season, finished third with a 20.3 points-per-game average. Highland Park’s all-time leading scorer, Vanessa Kohler just missed scoring 20 points-per-game and finished fourth. Middlesex’s Jess Devine ended up fifth but was second in total points with 559.
Some of the top scorers that will be returning next season include not only Brown and Pardo but also Metuchen’s Vicky Zaniecki, East Brunswick freshman Ava Catanho, North Brunswick’s Sydney Joseph, Piscataway’s Sarae Croley-Battle, Woodbridge’s Angel Smith and Spotswood’s Gabrielle Hill.
Watch South Plainfield’s Stella Sweeney score her 1,000th career point against J.P. Stevens on January 23rd. Sweeney, who finished fifth on the Lady Tigers’ all-time scoring list, ranked 17th in the GMC with a 14.1 points per game average in 2024-25.
